I want to recycle an old defective laptop. I have a desktop cpu and I wonder if I can use the laptop lcd screen for a desktop monitor. What should I do?
doesnt work that way, 99 percent of laptops are only video out not video in.
Befriend an engineer ’cause who knows what kinda cable they used to connect the screen to the motherboard.
The laptop has a circuit board that connects to the monitor that is not compatible with your desktop’s video card. You could have someone make adjustments but it would be a lot cheaper just to buy a flatscreen.
You don’t, since you have to design a whole video card from scratch.
Sell the LCD screen on eBay. Someone will buy it since it’s far often that someone smashed the screen but the rest of the computer still runs. THEN they do a screen transplant, and voila, whole computer.
toshiba portege m400 tablet get I have a broken laptop, and i was wondering how to go about recycling this in southern California?
I mean it’s literally broken beyond repair. It’s broken into two. The screen and keyboard are no longer attached, and i don’t think they’ll ever be.
So, how do i recycle something like this? I don’t want to just throw it away. I want to recycle it.
Can anyone give me a list of recycling centers in southern California that would recycle this properly?
